What a day! After watching the forecast anxiously all week, the clouds and cooler temps made for a comfortable run for everyone— and the rain held off until the very last of our volunteers were done and packing up! We registered 89 runners in person on Saturday morning (phew!), which catapulted our registrations to a record 315!! And our amazing musicians represented the very best of HWRSD fine arts: we had many young performers come out for their first Melody Miles appearance, including the B/C/W elementary chorus, and of course our veteran high schoolers showed up to rock once again! Our runners LOVED the energy and beautiful music along the race route. Where else can you see a banana playing the drums??

We couldn’t do this without all of you. To our race participants, musicians, volunteers, and our amazing sponsors, we thank you from the bottom of our arts-loving hearts for making the 29th annual Melody Miles such a success! We’ll see you next year for the big 30th anniversary celebration!
